Aquatic Circuit Training

This is an Aquatic pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 1319)

I start out the class with a warm-up and then follow with about 15-20 minutes of cardio work in the shallow end; then after that I divide the class up into four groups.

The first goup starts in the shallow end jogging back and forth from side to side.

The second group is at one side of the pool with noodles to hold them afloat. They are moving their legs below them in a straddle motion. I encourage them to do wide range of motion straddles, then alternate with quick, double time straddles.

The third group is at the deep end lap swimming. I don't care how they swim; they can do any type of stroke they want; and those who aren't good swimmers can use a noodle.

The last group is off to the other side treading water. Again, either with or without a noodle; depending on their level.

I do each station for two minutes and then we move on. I go through each station two times; and if it is a more advanced class, we will go through three times.

Have fun.
