This is a
Hi/Lo pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 524)
Block #1
- March forward 3X right lead/ left knee up/ right leg lunge/
left knee up
- March back 3X left lead/ right knee up/ left leg lunge/
right knee up
- Do pattern 2X for a 32 count block
Begin teaching the basic move of 3 marches 3 knees; add
direction forward and back; then add the lunge in place
of the second knee
Block #2
- Step touch 2X right lead (4 counts)/ step double knee
- Grapevine left and right
- Arm pattern for grapevine is...arms out to the side/
arms up above head/ arms out to side/ arms down
- Do step touch 2X/double knee starting with left lead
- Grapevine right and left with the arm pattern
Block #3
- Hamstrings moving forward right lead (8 counts)
- Lunge right and left (8 counts)
- Low jacks (high optional) moving back (8 counts)
- Arms for low jacks...pec dec
- Step touch (8 counts)
- Arm pattern for step touch...with elbows out the right
arm come up and down/ then left arm up and down/ then
both arms up and down 2x
The first block I got from a workshop with Tracy York. (Give credit where
due!) It can be hard to teach though depending on the level of the class.
Also, I like to change moves every 8 counts to keep the pattern moving
faster for more intensity, however; some of my classes aren't advanced
enough to change to a different move so fast so they have to be held
for longer.
