Jojo's Jam
This is a
Funk pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 1196)
I love to take aerobics to the funk level. Here is a basic pattern
that can be used in different combinatons:
- 4 march in place- start right (8)
- 4 march wide (8)
- 4 march in place (8)
- 4 march wide (8)
- (pump the arms in a running motion to really get into it)
- Go directly into a grapevine right, off right foot ending march
and grapevine back left (8)
- Repeat grapevine right and left 3x, and then go directly to a
double grapevine with a strong hop in the middle of them (16)
- Repeat double grapevine 3x, and then add four jacks in between
each grapevine tapping the foot on each end
- When you reach the double grapevine part of the routine you can add more
jacks in the middle and change the taps to knee lifts, kicks, etc. Remember
to add lively arm movements to accompany the footwork.
- I have even added jacks on the ends of the grapevines, changing
direction with quarter turns
- For more funk add squats on the ends and be enthusiastic by
encouraging verbal response and claps!!
- This combination can then reverse itself back to single grapevines
and eventually back to marches for a switch routine!!
I hope you can understand what I am trying to show you--ENJOY!
