Four Times the Fun!
This is a
Quad Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 623)
This pattern is commonly referred to as "quad stepping." Benches are end to
end (3 feet space between ends) in a straight line. Keep building room
lining benches behind the ones in front with a 3 feet space between rows.
Leave the right end benches and entire back row empty. Everyone will share
benches. Bench in front of you is "home", bench to right of home is #2,
bench behind #2 is #3 and bench directly behind home is #4. Each block is
32 counts. Remember, "switch" is a two-count step. Start at home with a
right lead.
Block #1
- Basic right X 2
- Knee off left end X 2
- Cross the top (longways), switch to #2, cross the top, tap down
- Knee hop X 1 to side (turn to left, your left side will be at the
right side of #2 bench
- Heel dix X 1
Block #2
- Over the top to your left, switch, and over the top of #3
- Walk X 4 (use inside foot) to #4
- Knee hop to inside of #4 (bench is to your right)
- Turnstep X 1
- U-turn X 1
- Over the top X 1
- Walk X 4 (use inside foot) to #3 (make sure you are towards the end of
the bench and not in the center)
Block #3
- Knee straddle X 2
- Repeater X 1 around end (moving to inside of #3)
- (On floor with inside foot), walk forward X 3, tap; walk back X 3, tap;
walk forward X 4, jumping jack X 2, facing left wall (make sure you walk
in center of all 4 and go the full length of all 4)
Block #4
- Travelling knees X 3 starting with home, #2, home. Use home and #2 as
if they were one bench stepping in the center.
- March X 4 on top of #2
- Lunge back X 6, basic down, hold and clap X 2
You can now self-reverse the routine starting with a left lead from block #1
on the #2 bench. This is only four blocks of the completed routine. There
are 8 blocks total. I will email the second shortly. This is not as
difficult as it looks, my students picked it up first time in 30 minutes!
Try it--we love it and its really a nice change of pace and a heck of a
workout! Email for questions or problems.
