Gypsy
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 1004)
Here's a pretty fun pattern for Intermediate/Advanced students! Enjoy!
The Step is horizontal!
- 1 Gypsy* (right lead) ~8
- Knee side to side (right lead) ~8
- Knee straddle knee(exit right, little turn on the
floor to face the right side of the room
- Chug** 3 (right lead-facing right side of room) ~6
- 1 mambo back ~2
- 1 Reverse turn (right lead) ~4
- 1 pop turn (left lead) ~4
REPEAT WITH THE LEFT LEAD!!
Okay! Okay! =0) Let me explain Gypsy*:
- V-step up right~1
- V-step up left~2
- Hop feet together (on the step)~3
- Hop feet wide (on the step)~4
- Hop feet together (on the step)~5
- Lift right knee up~6
- Exit down right~7
- Exit down left~8
I've heard Chug reffered to as a "wind up", rock step,
or a push step but here's my version.
**Right foot "marches"/chugs up on top of the step
while the left foot is marching on the floor.
Thank you to all of you great instructors who take the time to
"share" your wonderful choreography!!
I hope you enjoy this 'gypsy' combo, if it doesn't make sense
