Kim's Latest Double
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 1007)
Benches are vertical. You are at the left side of home bench, right lead.
Block #1
- Step knee to back end of home bench, tapping down with right foot (4)
- Side squat quickly X 2 to end of right bench (4)
- Basic left on end of right bench (4)
- Right knee exit to right side of right bench (4)
- Knee straddle, tap down on opposite side of bench X 2 sets (8)
- Over the top of bench you are on, switch benches to home and over the
top of home (all moving to your left) (8)
Block #2
- Slow squat over home bench to center of both (8)
- Walk X 4 with a right lead (from center of both to outside of right
bench--you are facing back of room, bench on your right) (4)
- Knee hop to center of both benches (4)
- V-step X 3 with left lead (using both benches) (12)
- Over the top of bench to your left (home) (4)
Block #3
- Repeater knees around front end of home bench to end, not all the way
around the end (bench end will be to your right, you are facing right
wall) (8)
- Cross the top longways X 1 (4)
- Knee hop to center of both benches and switch to right bench (4)
- Hamstring curl straddle X 4 on right bench, exit to right side (16)
Block #4
- Knee travel end to end on right bench facing left wall (like a single
bench travelling knee) X 1 1/2 (you'll do three knees, 1 front corner,
1 back corner, then you will face front of room and turn the last knee
into a knee hop backwards off the end of the bench so that the right
bench end is on your left and you are facing right wall), tap up/down
X 1 (16)
- Cross the top longways X 1 (4)
- U-turn on end of bench (small) X 1 (4)
- Cross the top longways X 1 (4)
- Knee hop to center of both benches (4)
Block #5
- Using both benches, step knee, step knee, jumping jack X 2 sets (16)
(start with right lead--right leg up on right bench, left knee up, left
knee comes down on left bench and right knee comes up, right knee comes
down bench left bench and left foot follows, jumping jack behind home
bench). Repeat sequence going the other way with left leg up first, but,
when you come down, don't come down behind right bench to do jumping
jack, come down in the center of both benches so that you are ready to
do the last step.
- V-step cross X 3 starting with a left lead after last jumping jack
(12) (left foot up on left bench, right foot up on right bench, left
foot to floor, right foot comes over and taps top of left bench and
then goes back to the top of right bench and repeats sequence)
- After last V-step cross, go over the top of right bench (quickly) (4)
You are now ready to begin entire routine on the right bench with a left
lead. The 1 1/2 travelling knees are the tricky part. I walk them through
this first so no one injures themselves with the backwards hop and they
feel comfortable with it. Email with questions or problems.
