Way Out of the Ordinary
This is a
Step pattern from

(pattern 1598)
Step is horizontal, Use a right lead, but all is self-reversing
Double toe taps right then left: 8 count total
- Tap right toe on top of bench (1) (Arms push forward chest level)
- Tap right toe on the floor (1) (Arms drop)
- Tap right toe on top of bench (1) (Arms push forward chest level)
- Tap right toe on the floor (1) (Arms drop)
- Repeat double toe taps with the left foot (4)
Single toe taps right then left and turn: 8 count total
- Tap right toe on top of bench (1)
- Tap right toe on the floor (1)
- Tap left toe on top of bench (1)
- Tap left toe on the floor (1)
- Turnstep, right lead (4)
- Over the top left lead(4)
- Turn (4)
- Over the top (4)
- Turn (4)
You should now be on a left lead to repeat the above 32 counts starting
with a left double toe tap etc..
Back to a right lead:
You will be facing the left wall for this whole part
- Over the top facing the left wall (4)
- Fan kick left leg back over (2)
Sweep the leg up on 1 count drop it to the floor second count
- Lift the right knee up and bring over the bench, and pump it on
the floor twice (tap/tap) (2)
- Walk backwards right/left/right/kick left(4)
- Walk forward left/right/left/tap the top of bench right (4)
- Knee straddle (4)
- V step on the floor in the straddle position (4)
- Over top left lead (4)
- Turnstep (4)
The turnstep brings you facing the right wall, repeat this section for a
32 count left lead.
Note* When you fan kick back and double pump,your feet never touch the bench.
You are just bringing your legs over it.
Back to a right lead
- Turnstep, but don't tap down on last count. "Walk off" (4)
- 4 Marches around the left end of step walking backwards right/left/right/left (4)
(You are now facing the left wall, left shoulder to the step)
- Lunge right leg out to the side putting your weight down on it, rock back on left foot (2)
- March/march right/Left (2)
- Lunge right leg out to the side putting your weight down on it, rock back on left foot (2)
- Step ball change right/left/right (2 counts syncopated)
- Diagonal left lead (4)
- Reverse diagonal (go back) (4)
- Knee straddle (4)
- 1 Alternating knee to the corner (4)
You are now on a left lead facing the mirror (front of room) to repeat
this section
Right lead:

- Right lead travelling knee tap down same leg 3 times, moving
around the left end of bench (12)
- 1 knee straddle (4)
- Left lead travelling knee tap down same leg 3 times, moving
around right end of bench (12)
- 1 Knee straddle (4)
- Stay in this straddle position with your right lead and do:
- 1 Knee straddle (4)
- "Up and off" (step up top left, step up top right and angle yourself
to face the mirror, walk off left/right (4)
- 1 Knee straddle to the left corner, left lead(4)
- "Up and off" (step up top right, step up top left and angle yourself
to face the mirror, walk off right/left (4)
Repeat the knee straddle/up and off once more right and left.
Right lead
- Quad repeater:2 knee lifts, 2 hamstring curls (8)
- Reverse basic: down/down, up/up (4)
- 1/2 Time tempo off the bench, left/right (4)
- Repeat left
