Square Reverse Turn
This is a
Hi/Lo pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 1442)
Block 1:
- Right lead: Walk up 4, with alternating arms overhead.(right/left) (4)
- 2-step hop touch right with slicing arms. (4)
- Left lead: Walk back 4, with alternating arms overhead (left/right). (4)
- 2-step hop touch left with slicing arms. (4)
- (This should form a square)
- 4 ponys (right,left...) (8)
- 2 single hamstrings, 1 double hamstring. (8)
- (Repeat square on left lead) 32 counts, autoswitch lead leg.
Block 2:
- 2 V- Steps with lead leg or V-Step turn-around. (8)
- 4 Alternating side lunges. (8)
Block 3:
- (High Impact!)
- 2 right heels (right arm press up and right, down right) (4)
- 2 left heels (left arm press up left, down left) (4)
- 4 alternating side kicks with slice arms. (8)
(Note: on the 2 heels you can add a twist for fun! ie. twist, twist to
right, twist twist left then the 4 kicks.)
That's it! The final product is 64 counts. I break it into these blocks so
that I can teach each block in a "seemingly reasonable" group. :)
Advanced Options:
** Block 1: Replace 2 step hop touch (or 2 step touchs traveling right) with
a reverse turn.
Reverse Turn Right Lead: Stepping off the right leg step-hop-spin
counter-clockwise using the left leg for momentum to face back wall. It is
considered a "reverse turn because you turn away from the lead leg.
Reverse Turn Left Lead: Stepping off the left leg step-hop-spin clockwise
using the right leg for momentum to face back wall.
New Block 1:
- Walk up 4, right lead.
- Reverse turn (face back of room.)
- Walk to back of room, right lead.
- Reverse turn (face front of room)
Sounds harder than it is. Cute for the more advanced student.
Good Luck. Email me if you have questions or comments. :)
