Diagonal Variation
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 2350)
Horizontal StepRight lead
(#)= number of counts
Self-reversing
- Diagonal over the top (4)
- Diagonal backwards to where you started (4)
- Straddle (up/up, down/down) (4)
- March backwards until you are no longer in a straddle (4)
- Walk on the floor to the left short end of the step, keeping the
step in front of you (right lead) (4)
- Over the top the long way, and back (8)
- Single kick and exit off (4)
This leaves you with a left lead to repeat above 32 counts
Right lead
- Diagonal over the top, but "walk off right/left" don't "tap down" (4)
- March around in a circle in place, right lead. Start the march
towards your right shoulder and end facing the right wall (4)
- Full turnstep, right lead. Facing the back of the room (8)
- Triple repeater knee, right lead, then straddle (facing right wall) (8)
- Triple knee repeater, left lead, and tap down (8)
The step is now to your left shoulder and you can repeat above 32
counts with a left lead
Note:
On the second combination, it's hard to get used to going over the top and
walking off instead of tapping down. I cue "diagonal, walk off". After the
"walk off", I march at half-time tempo in the circle when I introduce it so
they can figure out where we are going next...
