Nate's Phat Freeze
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 2352)
These 3 patterns are performed on a vertical step (with the short end
facing you).
Each combination is 64 counts in length and involves some form of
rhythmic variation, incorporating a "slowing down" or "freezing"
element---hence, the name "Nate's Phat Freeze."
I actually used these combinations when I presented for the Brick Bodies
instructors, in Timonium, Maryland.
P.S. Special thanks to Lynne Brick for coming up with the title name.
P.P.S. I will post the other 2 combos when I have more time.
Combo 1 (begin by standing to the left of the step)
- (right lead) Alternating step ham curls 2x (8)
- (right lead) Chase turn/shuffle turn/turnstep (4)
- (left lead) Pop turn straddle (4)
- (right lead) Step knee rhythmic variation (16)
(Breakdown of rhythmic variation):
The step knee rhythmic variation combines 2 step knee straddles
at varying speeds as follows:
- Step knee up at half speed (4)
- Straddle down at tempo (2)
- Step knee up at half speed (4)

thrust for 2nd knee (8)
