Box on the Bench
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 2375)
This is a step pattern. Begin behind a horizontal bench - right lead.
- Double knee lift on the left corner (4)
- Step down turn to right corner (2)
- Double knee lift to right corner (4)
- Step down (2)
- Tiny reverse U-Turn in middle of the bench (4)
(You will be turning to your left with a right lead)
- Walk half-way around the bench (4)
(Walking to right side of the room with a right lead - do not tap
down after exiting from U-Turn)
- Box-step on the bench (4)
(Like a box step on the floor. Cross right foot over left to step
up right, step up left behind right, step down right, step down
left. Do not cross over the top, you should exit to the same
spot you started from.)
- Walk half-way around bench to original starting position but
facing right corner (4)
- Push step (1/2 mambo) on right corner with right lead (2)
- Quick cha-cha to change leads (2)
You can now repeat the entire sequence to the right corner beginning
with a left lead. It may feel a little strange to step to the bench
with the outside foot on the box step and the push-step, but if your
class is careful, they can have fun with this. Add power to the U-Turn
for extra energy or stomp on the push-step for a little funk. The first
part of this combo must be credited to Mauro Maschkvich on the FitTour.
Thanks to all for the great contributions!
