Kind of Complicated Vertical
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 3010)
Vertical step, right lead, starting at the left side of
bench, right shoulder to the step. Self-reversing.
(#)=number of counts
- Double knee repeater to the left corner
(face right wall) (6)
- Double knee repeater to the right corner
(face right wall) (6)
- 1/2 a turnstep, right lead (4)
- Full turnstep, left lead (8)
- Over the top, left lead, facing back of the room (4)
- 1/2 a turnstep, right lead (4)
Now you are on the other side of the step facing the mirrors
again to repeat above with a left lead.
Right lead again:
- March up on top, right/left (4)
- 2 Lunge taps, with the right leg. (tap floor/tap
bench twice) (4)
- March forward left/right, still on top of the bench (4)
- 2 Lunge taps, with the left leg (4)
- Step down with the right foot onto the floor,
hamstring curl left, step left foot on the floor and
hamstring curl right. Do two more of these right/left as
you travel back. (8)
- Mambo cha/cha/cha, right lead, on the floor (4)
- Left toe tap 2 times on the bench. (tap bench/tap floor) (4)
You are now on the right side, to repeat this section left lead.
Right lead again:
- Walk up toward the mirrors right/left/right, kick left
leg out to the side (4)
- Jazz square. Begin with the left leg crossing over the
right (4)
- 1/2 Time step touch, left lead, toward the left wall (4)
- Grapevine right. The step is behind you. See notes (4)
- Peg Leg on the board, left lead, 3 times. See notes (6)
- March back on the floor left/right (2)
- Peg Leg on the board, left lead, 3 times (6)
- March back on the floor left/right (2)
You can now repeat this section with a left lead.
Notes: This is a big grapevine on the floor, so that it gets
you to the right side of the step, keeping the step behind you.
When you are done with the grapevine, your left shoulder should
be to the step, so you are ready to go into the Peg Leg.
Diagram:
you*>>>> grapevine
= Peg leg here 3x's
= march back left/right
= Peg Leg here again 3 x's
= march back left/right

Peg leg also is called a "stomp". It is just putting the foot
on the step, lifting up your body weight, then dropping it down.
Kind of like a rocking motion, shifting weight from the left foot,
to the right foot.
This all seems quite complicated in writing, so email me with any questions.
