Easy Quad Stepping
This is a
Quad Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 1821)
Steps are set up like this:
xxxxx xxxxx
home 3rd base
xxxxx xxxxx
1st base 2nd base
Although the steps are named as above, I usually cue them as back door, front door, and
next door. This eliminates a lot of confusion for the particpants. One other important
cue is "diagonal" i.e. from home to 2nd or 1st to third. Both combos begin with right lead
and will self- reverse.
Combo 1
- Alternating glute lifts between Home and 3rd (alternate neighbors) (8)
- Alternating mambos on the floor Home to 3rd (8)
- Over Home 1x (4), hop turn Home (4) (go back door)
- Over 1st 1x (4), diagonal to 3rd (4)
(Repeat at 3rd with left lead)
Combo 2
- 2 Charlestons Home (8) (go back door)
- Over 1st (4), 1 turnstep (4)
- Double diagonal to upper right corner of 3rd (8)
- Reverse hop turn (4), and left basic (4)
(Repeat at 3rd with left lead)
These patterns have been really easy to teach the "January newcomers" and yet have kept the regulars happy. If you have any questions email me.
