Jello Legs
This is an
Aquatic pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 2598)
I generally use this pattern at the end of a deep water class. Have all of
the participants assume a seated position - as if they are sitting on a
chair with their legs at a 90 degree angle to their body.
- Seated legs in and out (press the legs out and back together keeping
the knees at hip height, and the feet are apart). Cue - squeeze
your cheeks
- Emphasis out - press out to shoulder width strong, relax as you
bring in
- Emphasis in - bring the legs together strong and fast, relax on
the way out.
- Pacman legs - feet together under seat, knees high, pull knees
apart and together, cue squeeze your cheeks
- Froggies - start from pacman position with knees wide and feet
under seat, press feet to bottom of pool keeping feet close together,
then bring feet back up underneath seat - knees to side. Squeeze the
cheeks as you press the legs down.
- Add a kick - hold the froggies in a pacma position with knees wide
and feet under seat, kick both legs out to the side/front, and then
bring them back. Encourage participants to keep their stomachs tight
and to use their hands to scull for balance.
- Alternate the legs - same kick, but one leg at a time
- Bring it back to seated legs in and out
Go through the set twice - the first time to have everyone get the basic
moves, and the second time with a bit of power. Legs should be jello at
the end of this set.
