Hello !!! I'm so happy to be back on line. I've missed you all. After 6 weeks in
Fort Meyers I'm now in Maryland. I went to some interesting classes and Mr. Deke's
at the Workout has a must if you are ever in that city. He "works" the room like a
nightclub act and they love it.
Hello to Pam and all the other instructors I met.
I've have some inspiration lately and my creative juices are flowing so here we go.....
Right lead
- Walk 3x jack open, hold with a clap, jack in, out, in (8)
- Repeat 3x (24)
- Take this move around the room "follow the lead" style in a circle
- WHILE STILL IN CIRCLE:
- Shay say 2x walk or jog 4x (8)
- Repeat 3x (24) Note: on last set of shay say's cue them back to their places.
- Step touch (or step hop) forward 4x (8)
- Step right "drag" left foot in to right foot moving back (4)
- Step left "drag" right foot in to left foot moving back (4)
- "Soccer kick" right across front of body 2x (4)
- Squat right with hand claps (4)
- "Soccer kick" left across fron to body 2x (4)
- Squat left with hand claps (4)
- Note: soccer kick is very straight leg foot flexed; kicking with heel
- Ballet step
- Step right lift left circling in front and to the right wall (your now
facing right wall) Arm: left arm follows left leg circling in palm in front
of your face (4)
- STILL FACING SIDE WALL:
- Rock step left foot BACK and FRONT Arm: turn palm away from face put back of
hand to forehead pulling elbow back while your rocking (4)
- Repeat on left lead (8)
Now to make it that bad word "DANCE" tell your students that dance
is only a person showing emotion thru movement.... ask them to think about having a
picture in their hand while they do this move. Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, a lover.....
Then when you pull your elbow back on the rock step sigh happily. Repeat
asking them to really try and before you know it..... you're dancing!!!!
Try it.... it may help break them into thinking dancing isn't a four letter word in
the gym. See you soon and please email me I've missed the connection.....
P.S. The first step is variation of something from Siam... I love her combos.
