Shooting Star
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 2194)
Bench should be vertical, start on the lower left side of the bench:
- (1) A-Step, right foot lead - (4 counts)
- (1) Over the top - (4 counts)
- (1) Diagonal over the top - (4 counts)
- (1) Pivot turn on left foot, tap down - (4 counts)
You should now be on the upper left side of the bench, facing where
you started the combination.
Repeat the above steps using the left foot lead.
You have to have a little imagination, but if you draw this move, it will make a "star" configuration that "shoots" across the bench!
To teach this move, I usually start in sets of (4) and break it down slowly:
- (4) A-Steps, right foot lead - (16 counts)
- (3) Over the top - (12 counts)
- (1) Diagonal over the top - (4 counts)
- (3) Over the top - (12 counts)
- (1) Pivot turn, tap down (4 counts)
As the students learn the move, I decrease the repetitions, eventually
leaving out the "Over the Top" between the "Diagonal" and the "Pivot Turn".
I have just started a step class at my workplace and my students
are really enjoying the moves I get from this site --
Keep up the good work /:0) !!!
