Diane's Warm Up For Step or Floor Aerobics
This is a
Warmup pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 2196)
Step is horizontal and your at the left end of your step facing front row.
Combination 1
- 2 V-steps on the floor (8 counts)
- Walk forward 4 counts and squat the right leg out (8 counts total)
- 3 Alternating grapevines [right, left, right] (12 counts)
- Walk backwards (4 counts)
- 2 V-steps on the floor leading left (8 counts)
- Walk forward 4 counts and squat the left leg out (8 counts total)
- 3 Alternating grapevines [left, right left] (12 counts)
- Walk backwards (4 counts)
Combination 2
- Walk to your right, left, and right wall (12 counts)
- 2 Alternating step touches (4 counts)
- 3 Step side abduction on one leg [right leg out] (12 counts)
- Feet together bounce in place [for anterior tibialis warm up] (4 counts)
- Left lead, walk up and back 2 sets (16 counts)
- 4 Alternating step hamstring in place (8 counts)
- 4 Alternating step knees in place (8 counts)
Combination 3
- Squat travel to your right 2x (8 counts)
- Squat travel to your left 2x (8 counts)
- 2 sets of out out, in in (8 counts)
- Slide laterally to your right 1/2 a tempo (4 counts) and march in place
with your left foot (4 counts)
- Squat travel to your left 2x (8 counts)
- Squat travel to your right 2x (8 counts)
- 2 Sets of out out, in in leading left (8 counts)
- Slide laterally to your left 1/2 a tempo (4 counts) and march in
place with your right foot.
At this point you can pre-stretch if you like. I use this much for my advanced
classes. You might have to modify to for your classes.
