Step Combinations
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 2211)
(#1) Front approach (total 64 counts)
- 2 V-step right (8)
- Grapevine right (4)
- Grapevine left with back to step (4)
- Repeater knee right (8)
- Over the top (over the top) right (4)
- 1/2 Turnstep (baby turn) left - end facing front (4)
Repeat whole combination on the left side

- 1/4 Hop turn counterclockwise left (4)

- Repeater knee right (8)
- 1/4 Hop turn counterclockwise left (4)
- T-step right (up-up-straddle-straddle-up-up-down-down) (8)
- 1/4 Hop turn clockwise right (4)

(#3) Side approach - step on right (total 128 counts)
- Straddle up right (up right-up left-straddle right-straddle left) (4)
- Straddle up knee (up right-left knee up-straddle left-straddle right) (4)
- Repeat on left
- Alternating straddle repeater knee right, left - exit on right side, tap
left (16)
- Corner to corner (diagonal) across left (4)
- Over the top right, left (8)
- Baby turnstep left (4)
- Repeat right (facing back of room)
*Repeat the entire sequence starting with step on lefteft*
#1 is hard to breakdown. I welcome ANY suggestions. I usually end up blocking it and repeating it until the class catches on.
#2 is easier to breakdown by teaching the alternating knee lifts and repeater
first, then adding the 1/4 hop turn with 2 basic steps, then changing the basic
steps to one T-step
#3 works best by teaching the second part of the combination first. Emphasize one
straddle and one knee lift on the first part. I usually teach 3 straddles and 1
knee and reduce it down.
