Cathy's corner
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 2505)
Combo 1
- 2 Basic (8), 2 V-step (8), corner to corner knees 2x (16)
- L-step off the end (4), one step touch on the floor (4)
- Knee home (4) 1 Basic (4) step pivot (4) 3 funky V-steps *(12)
- Repeat on the other leg (64)
Combo 2
- Turnstep 2 (8) tap up (or jump up on the corner for more power) 2x (8)
- Diagonal (4), triple knee around the corner(8), turn 2 (8)
- Repeat other leg, beginning with the 2 taps or jumps
Combo 3
- Hamstring curl on the corners 2x (16)
- Repeater curls on the corners (16)
- Figure eight 2x (32)
- Exit with single curls on the corners
Combo 4
- Kick the corners, right and left - add a leap with a kick for more
power - 2x (16)
- Indecision knee* (8),
- Hop turn (4), 1 lateral raise (4), A-step (4), 1 Lateral raise (4)
- Turnstep 4x (16)
*I know that combo 4 does not add to 64, so when I teach it, I use
repeater lateral raises and will throw in a repeater lateral between
the indecision knee and hop turn. It can break down to 32 if you only
kick the corners once and cut down the turnsteps at the end.
*Funky V is a V-step with some "hips " thrown in. I tell the girls
in my class that you have to use 'em to lose 'em, or just throw
those hips away.
*Indecision knee is approach the bench from the side, straddle up,
straddle down, jump up on the board with 2 feet, knee lift and exit
on the same side as the knee. I cue it straddle up, straddle down,
jump up, knee exit.
*Figure eight is a triple hamstring curl around the corner, straddle
down in the middle of the board, and triple curl arond the other
corner. Single curls corner to corner work well to exit and move on.
