This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 2509)
As always, all sets are done in a 32 count phrase.
Facing the left wall with the step on your right:
Phrase I:
- Basic right on an angle 1 (1-4)
- Step up and straddle (4-8)
- Step off the end of the bench (9-12)
- Step up and off the side to your right (13-16)
- [you should now be on the "front" side of the bench with the
step to your left]
- Turnstep 1 (1-4)
- Corner to corner - diagonal step (5-8)
- Step touch on floor 2 around end of step, or you can hop turn (9-12)
- Turnstep 1 (13-16)
- [you should now be on the "front" side of the bench with the
step to your right]
- Basic right on an angle 1 (1-4)
- Step up and straddle (4-8)
- Step off the end of the bench (9-12)
- Step up and off the side to your right (13-16)
- [you should now be on the "regular" side of the bench with the
step to your left]
- Turnstep 1 (1-4)
- Corner to corner - diagonal step (5-8)
- Step touch on floor 2 around end of step, or you can hop turn (9-12)
- Turnstep 1 (13-16)
Phrase II:
- 2 Charleston kicks to your left (1-8)
- 2 Charleston kicks to your right (9-16)
- 2 Basics or a *walk over (see below) (17-24)
- Repeater knee to the left (25-32)
- 2 Charleston kicks to your right
- 2 Charleston kicks to your left
- 2 Basics or a walk over
- Repeater knee to the right
Phrase III:
- Double knee repeater to your left (1-4)
- Straddle down and step back up (5-8)
- Lunge side to side - single single double (9-16)
- Use the double knee to turn you body and face the back of the room
- So, the cue would be single single toe knee face back
- Step up left and V step (1-4)
- Tap change right and repeat the V right (5-8)
- Tap left and step up on top (9-10)
- Lunge back one single one double and step down (11-16)
- Double knee repeater to your left (1-4)
- Straddle down and step back up (5-8)
- Lunge side to side - single single double (9-16)
- Use the double knee to turn you body and face the front of the room
- So, the cue would be single single toe knee face front
- V step left (1-4)
- Tap change right and repeat the V right (5-8)
- Tap left and step up on top (9-10)
- Lunge back one single one double and step down (11-16)
Phrase IV:
- Basic right tap change basic left tap change (1-8)
- V step right tap change left V step left tap change right (9-16)
- Single knee to the left (1-4)
- Mambo to your right cha cha front (5-8)
- Repeater knee left (9-16)
- Basic left tap change basic right tap change (1-8)
- V step left tap change right V step right tap change left (9-16)
- Single knee to the right (1-4)
- Mambo to your left cha cha front (5-8)
- Repeater knee right (9-16)
Phrase V:
- Kick butt singles left, right, left (1-12)
- L-step right (13-16)
- Cross top 3 times (1-12)
- Knee up bring it back to front (13-16)
- Kick butt singles right, left, right
- L-step left
- Cross top 3 times
- Knee up bring it back to front
Phrase VI:
- Facing front:
- 2 V-steps right (1-8)
- Turnstep come off the end of the bench (9-12)
- Walk your bench the long way with the right foot (13-14)
- Straddle (15-16)
- Right foot rock rock hop turn to opposite end of bench (1-8)
- Repeater knee right, use it to travel and face the back
of the room (9-16)
- Facing back:
- 2 V-steps right (1-8)
- Turnstep come off the end of the bench (9-12)
- Walk your bench the long way with the right foot (13-14)
- Straddle (15-16)
- Right foot rock rock hop turn to opposite end of bench (1-8)
- Repeater knee right, use it to travel and face the front
of the room (9-16)
Phrase VII:
- Turnstep straddle (1-4)
- Step up with right foot and do a regular turn on the "front"
of the bench (5-8)
- Over the top 2 (9-16)
- You should be on the "front" side of the bench with the step to your left
- Turnstep straddle (1-4)
- Step up with left foot and do a regular turn on the "regular side"
of the bench (5-8)
- Over the top 2 (9-16)
Viola! you are done baby!
Let me explain the "walk over":
Step up right & left onto the bench facing the back of the room and step
off backward onto the floor, you should be facing back now. Step back up
with the SAME foot you lead with turn and face the front and step down.
Once you've got the rythm of it it's very easy. It's hard to picture when
you read it, but once you're in front of your step it will flow nicely. Be
sure you lead with the same going over and coming back!
