MC's Party Time !
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 3359)
This is my step class for October 98. There are 6 combos. I take
about 5 minutes (about one song) to teach each combo (each combo is
designed to flow well if repeated on their own a few times).
After 30 minutes, I repeat all the 6 combos one after another for
the last 10 minutes of class (these flow well also). This is not
super dancy and hard to get, so people have no problem catching
it and can concentrate on getting their hearth rate up. It is
also pretty easy to add up fancy steps if people wish to. I use
side A of BURNTRAX step #7
The step is horizontal
Combo 1:
- 2 V-step left, 2 basic left (16 counts)
- 2 Alternating leg side (8 counts)
- 1 Leg curl repeater (8 counts)
- Repeat with right leg. (32 counts)
Combo 2:
- 1 Knee up to right corner (4 counts)
- Over the top (4 counts)
- 1 Knee repeater around the end (8 counts)
(or 2 knees around the end)
- 2 Turnsteps (8 counts)
- 1 Combo repeater (knee, side, curl) (8 counts)
- Repeat on the left corner (32 counts)
Combo 3:
(facing the right wall, with the step on our left)
- 4 Kicks (charleston) (16 counts)
- 2 Shuffle turnstep (8 counts)
- 1 Diagonal (4 counts)
- 1 Leg side going back (4 counts)
- Repeat with the step on our right (32 counts)
- Over the top, turnstep (8 counts)
- Over the top, turnstep (8 counts)
- 4 A-step (going over the top) (16 counts)
Combo 4:
- 4 Alternating knees (now facing the step)
right, left, right, left (16 counts)
- 4 Alternating leg extensions (16 counts)
- 1 Knee straddle repeater at right corner (16 counts)
(1 knee right, straddle, 1 knee left, straddle,
1 repeater knee right)

- Around the world with knees (16 counts)
(1 knee right corner, straddle, 1 knee left facing
the back of the room, 1 knee right, straddle, 1 knee left,
now facing front)
- 4 Alternating leg curls (16 counts)
- Repeater knees for 5 right corner, 2 jacks (16 counts)
- Repeater knees for 5 left corner , 2 jacks (16 counts)
Combo 5:
- Repeater 2 knees right corner, up up (8 counts)
- From the top 8 lunges back (16 counts)
- Down down, repeaters 2 knees left corner (8 counts)
- 4 Kicks (charleston) right corner (16 counts)
- 4 Kicks (charleston) left corner (16 counts)
Combo 6:
- 4 Basic left (run on top) (16 counts)
- 4 Tap up tap down left (16 counts)
- 3 Sailors left leg start (8 counts each) (24 counts)
- 1 Knee repeater (8 counts)
- Repeat with basic right (64 counts)
Breaking it down:
Most of it is pretty simple, except for combo 5. I got that tip from
a workshop with Jay Blaynick (how to get on top of the step to start
patterns from the top)
Usually I do:
- Repeater for 3 right corner, 2 basic right
- Repeater for 3 left corner, 2 basic left
- Then go to
- Repeater for 2 right corner, 1 basic, repeater for 2 left corner
- Then I can break the basic in 2 (up up stay on top, ect.)
Cheers, M-C
