The O-step, (Like the Letter)
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 3409)
Vertical step, starting at the left side with your right
shoulder to the step, right lead.
- O-step: up right, up left, down right, down left
(no tap) (4)
- Walk backwards right/left around the short end, then
forward (still right/left) so you end up where you
started the O-step, stay facing the mirrors on these
4 counts (4)
- Repeat the O-step again, right lead (8)
- Pivot on the floor, right lead (4)
- Walk all the way around the step on the floor (8)
- Over the top, right lead (4)
Repeat above 32 counts left lead
Note: I do the O-step in 1/2 time first so they can get used
to NOT tapping down.
- March up on top: right/left, right/left (4)
- Right leg steps down off the step to the right side, left
leg kicks up in the air (2)
- Rock step: left leg comes down to the floor and weight
shifts to the left foot, then shift your weight down onto
the right (2)
- Repeat the above 8 counts left lead (8)
- Tap your right foot to the bench then the floor, twice (4)
- Tap your left leg out to the side on the floor, then pull
it in twice (4)
- Lunge back right leg behind you, then pull it back, lunge
the left leg behind you then pull it back (4)
- Over the top right lead (4)
Repeat above 32 left lead
I cue this:
- March up "4",
- Step down /kick/rock step
- March up "4"
- Step down /kick/rock step
- Double toe tap right
- Double toe tap left
- Single lunge backs, right/left (the kind where the heel
presses down)
- Over the top
