Back Kick It!

This is a BoxAerobics pattern from (pattern 3161)

Here are a few more combinations I use in my cardio-kickboxing class. These can be done in the air or on bags. These techniques use elbow and backfist combinations. Elbow techniques are a great way to protect yourself! I usually have the students do the above combinations for at least two to three minutes, before switching legs. They will really feel it!

Back Kick: Knee comes up in front of you, then pushs back, toes need to be pointed down, hit with the heel. You are aiming toward the knee of your attacker.
Elbow techniques: Striking elbow must folllow the ribs. Keep it tight. Look over the shoulder of the arm you are using, before throwing the technique.
Backfist: Use top two knuckles, you are aiming for someone's nose!

Make sure the students are using the PROPER techniques. Go slow with these techniques. The kicks need to be strong and powerful! My "Kickbox Workout in Wyoming" video web site is up and running!
