Swamp Thing

This is a Cycling pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 3171)

Just found this page today and it's great! So many ideas to expirement with!

Anyway, there's a country/rock instrumental song called the Swamp Thing that is about 7 minutes long that I do a great visualization with 2 different versions.

The first version, I tell my class the name of the song and tell them that we're riding in Okeefenokee and the Swamp Thing is lurking around any corner. Suddenly I see him, and we're off and running from the evil creature. Watch out, he's got his big maw open and he's trying to slime you! Sprint, sprint, sprint. We'll pull away for a while but we're on his turf, he finds us again and we're off and sprinting. Sometimes I'll alternate between a seated and standing sprint. You can cue the sprints to go with the music and get a real push from the music that works great. The class thinks it's corny but I get them smiling through the pain.

Version 2 is a Dukes of Hazzard scenario. Tell them you're out cruising town in your rebel flag painted bike and all of a sudden 'ole Rosco B. Coltrain spots you from afar and takes off after you.
