Rhythmic fun
This is a
Cycling pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 3222)
This is my first cycling pattern submission so my cycling
"lingo" may not be perfect!
I use Reebok Studio Cycle but I incoporate rythmic
segments in my class.
- 50% Resistance - start with a standing climb
- One arm in the aggressive position, other arm in home
position (the arm in the aggressive position should be
the arm which corresponds to your lead leg - i.e. left
arm aggressive if leading left)
- Start with lean over leg (this is where you dip down to
the side of your lead leg - imagine leaning over the side
of your bike)
- Lean over leg 8 times (2 counts each lean = 16)
- Then lean forward towards the front of you handle bars and
cycle while in a forward position - remind your students to
keep their glutes back and their back flat
- Forward for 8 counts
- Then slide your body back over top of the seat
- Back for 8 counts
- Then drop to 4 lean over leg (8 counts), forward 4 counts,
back 4 counts (do this twice)
- Then down to 2 lean over leg (4 counts), forward 2 counts,
back 2 counts (do this 4 times)
- If you're really ambitious and aren't confused 1 lean over
leg and forward and back (repeat this 8 times)
Then change lead legs and repeat on the other side
Suggested music:
- Reflex - Duran Duran
- Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper
- Get Ready For This - 2 Unlimited
- New Song - Howard Jones
- I Like It Like That - Blackout All Stars
- What You Need - INXS
- (I'm Gonna Be) 500 miles - The Proclaimers
- Bamboogie - Bamboo
