Kathy Z's Block Party 2

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 4537)

I got so much email about my "Block Party", I'm sending you some more ideas! This stuff is pretty simple so that your class can get the feel of moving around the block comfortably...collision free! I'm using "home" as the step that is technically your own. The step directly across from your "home" step is the opposing step. To eliminate confusion, please remember that when you march 4 counts, it takes you only to the very next step in whichever direction you are going. 8 counts takes you to the one on the opposite side of the block from where you start marching from. Make sense? The diagram below is not for cueing purposes, but for helping you understand where you end up in each pattern. When you cue traveling around the step, just say "march 4 steps to the next step", or "march 8 steps to the opposite step". But for explaining it more clearly to you, I've named them here as follows...

          Opposing
            step
          xxxxxxxxx

Left x x Right
Step x x Step
      x x

          Home step
          xxxxxxxxx

Pattern One

Beginning at home step... Repeat pattern one, beginning left lead, on the "left" step. When you finish, you will be back at your home step.

Pattern Two

Beginning on the home step Repeat pattern two starting on the "opposite" step, left lead. When you finish, you'll be back at the home step.

Pattern Three

Beginning on the home step. Repeat the pattern beginning on the "right" step, left lead. When you finish, you'll be back at your home step.

Pattern Four

Beginning on the home step Repeat pattern four on the left lead, home step. When you finish, you'll be back at your starting place at home!
