Night Ride

This is a Cycling pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 5937)

Hi Spin freaks!

Tried a new one on my classes this week. It's easy to do. I set the mood by telling the class we were going on a ride late in the day up into the mountains. We had a quicky warm up, then we had a fast song to begin with to race to the mountains. Then I made them climb a huge mountain right off the bat with the songs--Higher Place by Tom Petty then Roll With It by Steve Winwood. The climb took about 9 minutes of 70, 80 and 90. Once we got to the top I used the song--Top of the World by Amanda Marshall. We did hovers, squats, etc. Then it was starting to get 'dark', so down the mountain we sprinted to a very fast beat. While they were spinning their hearts out, I lit candles I brought from home and turned out the lights. From then on I used music with a night theme--Moondance by Van Morrison etc. There is lots of music with a nighttime theme to it (any will do) We climbed a little more (because we were in a valley and had to make our way out) I had a long sprint at the end of the class, we all took turns then did a big long sprint together. Everyone liked the class. It's really nice to have the lights out but still be able to see what's going on. The cool down was also night themed music.

Hey guys, try this one...it's fun.

P.S. If I had had enough flashlights, I would have mounted them on the front of the bikes for fun.

Keep those great ideas coming in and keep spinn'in those wheels!
