Kickbox with a "Candy Cane" Yummy!

Thank all of you who emailed me with such kind words! Here is a
great "Kardio Konditioning" workout:
Combo #1
- Squat-front kick alternates right & left
- Squat travels 2x right & left
- Add a front jab 3x (add a knee block if you want) on
4th count
- Shuffle forward diagonally 8x quick, jab or cross 2x
- Shuffle back diagonally 8x quick, jab or cross 2x
You can use a "Body Bar", Spri "Exertube" bar, or a
stick for this next segment:
- Bar is on top of your thighs:
- Knee lifts alternate, hold for 2 counts each, don't let
foot touch.
- Hold knee up in a balance pose and add knee extensions.
(do both sides)
- Hold stick vertically on the floor for balance and practice
your front kick, side kick, or roundhouse kick in slow
motion to work on form and muscle endurance and strength.
Combo #2
- Jab - cross quick tempo travels with a quick squat
count is "1-2-1-2.."
- Add a side kick 2x
- Jab/hook right arm
- Roundhouse 2x right
- Alternate jabs facing front to switch leads. (chant
reindeer names!)
Again use a bar for this segment:
- Front squats (the bar is on your chest and arms are crossed
over the top.) Make sure to sit back into your hips and watch
knee alignment.
- Press bar out to front for anterior deltiods. "Front
Press outs"
- Go back to squats, alternating: squat/knee/squat/kick with
bar still in front on chest.
This is a "Major" quadricep burnout!
Add jumprope in between these combos and turn off the music
and have your class sing jingle bells. See how long they can
keep going. I have my class put jingle bells on their shoes to
get them in the "Christmas Spirit" And of course, don't forget
to hand out Candy Canes after class!
