Step Groove III (don't call it a comeback!)
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 5044)
Bench is horizontal. Only the first combination is
self-reversing.
Combo #1:
- Step kick
- Pivot turn cha cha cha
- Alternating knees x2
- Over the top x2 (turning so that there's no tap)
- Repeater knee with ball change in the middle
Combo #2:
- Basic step x2
- 1/4 Turn off the end & face in (your heel stays on
top of the bench)
- Box step*
- Step knee lift
- Reverse turn (full circle)
- Step up, lunge front, knee lift, exit back*
Combo #3:
- Mambo cha cha cha (on the floor)
- Step touch x2 around the end of the bench
- Walk around the other end (4 counts)
- Step knee lift
- L-step x2 with rhythm change*
Combo #4:
- Arabesque over the top (sweep the leg that lifts
over the top)
- Step knee lift on the floor
- Step up, lunge x2 & exit (facing the back)
- Double repeater knee x2
- Full reverse turn
When you are finished you will be facing the back of the
room. Sometimes people hate this, but I like to do it to
them.
Breakdown of moves:
Box step:
With the foot on the bench (use the right for example),
step up right, left on top then right, left on the floor.
Kinda like a box step or jazz square.
L-step with rhythm change:
Knee to the side, 3 taps on the floor, knee exit back.
I'll change the 3 taps from floor, floor, floor to
floor, bench, floor.
Lunge front, knee back:
Basically a single lunge front & a double lunge back.
Please email me if you have any questions. I've taught
this routine at home as well as in Canada. It's fairly
easy to follow & people seem to enjoy it. I hope you like
it as well.
