Turn-Straddle
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 5047)
Start facing the front of your step. The easiest way to
get into this is to start from a turnstep. With this
move you'll be putting two turnsteps together with a
straddle in the middle.
- Start with 4 turnsteps (32 counts)
- Then 1/2 turnstep (2 counts) leading with the right leg.
- Straddle the left end of the bench leading with
the right leg (2 counts).
- Then do a turnstep leading with the right leg (4 counts)
- Should be 8 counts all together and you should end
up on the opposite side of your bench.
- Then start with the left leg and perform the same
movement all the way back to where you started.
- Just a hint, when you start with the right leg continue
all way with the right leg. When you start with the
left leg continue with the left leg all the way around.
- The 4 turnsteps at the beginning are optional, they
just make it easier to get into it.
- There is a lot of movement with this move around the
bench so make sure you pick up your feet and watch
your foot placement.
- To add on to this:
- Perform the first half so you end up on the opposite
side leading with the right leg (8 counts).
- Go over the top (4 counts).
- Perform 1 turnstep (4 counts).
- At this point you now begin with your left leg lead
and perform the same movement all the way around with
your left leg lead (16 counts total).
- When you put it all together you end up with 32
counts (hopefully!)
Let me know what you think about this. I use it a lot in my
classes and my people seem to like it. Probably intermediate
to advance should use this due to the large amounts of
movement around the bench.
