Rubber (Band) Legs
This is a
Body Sculpting pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 4882)
To do this sculpting exercise you will need to go to the
Stationery supply store and buy the biggest, thickest
elastics they have (Take two and loop together to make one
band with two circles). You can also use Dynabands tied
together in a knot to form a circle. I like to buy the
elastics because not all facilities carry bands, and they
are cheap and easy to replace and pack around.
Cue your class to stand near a wall with one hand on the
wall for support. Figure 8 the elastic around your ankles.
- For quads, pulse the leg forward for a set of 8
- Hold the leg at extension and move to the adductors.
Do a set of 8
- Hold the leg out and move the leg to the rear for
glute work. Do a set of 8
- POINT the toe and pull up for hamstrings. Do another set
of 8. With the hamstring move cue them to point the toe,
it's amazing how many lead with the heel and involve the
calf muscle instead. Watch them groan!
Get the idea! From here you can break the sets down to 4 or add
pulses, make up your own routine. Then tell them they have to do
the other side.
Any questions, just ask!
