Work It!

This is a BoxAerobics pattern from (pattern 4973)

Facing right wall Repeat on other side

Repeat with opposite lead (for punches and kicks)

Facing left wall

Repeat on other side
Start off at half speed and work up to tempo.

Repeat this combination several times - it's great for getting the heartrate up. Make sure your class turns in towards the mirror, rather than making a circle by turning in the same direction each time. This will make students very dizzy.

I usually work on punches and kicks at the beginning of class to make sure everyone's form is what it should be. That way, beginners aren't completely lost when we go into the combinations and even my most advanced students get a good workout because they are really intense while we are working on form. I sometimes use jump rope drills or sports moves in the middle of class to break things up and keep them on their toes.
