Who are the people in your neighborhood?

This is a Cycling pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 4349)

I usually start this class with some kind of high endurance warm-up. The 90% heart rate sprints work great. (that one is a favorite of mine..thank you Jim). Then, if the class memebers are not beginners, I give each person 1-2 minuets (depends on size of class) to take us through their neighborhood. It helps to learn their names during the warm up, and then call on them later. "OK, Bob, we are in your driveway....take us through your neighborhood" Giving the members something familiar to visualize really helps them get involved. I call out the time left every 30 seconds or so. They love to participate. We go from one member to the next, so there is no break and it turns out to be quite challenging. I got rave reviews each time I tried it. Plus, it gets you off the hook for a bit. Try it out and e mail me with the results or any variations you think of. Keep those ideas coming.
