Knee Three (not very original, but...)

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 4450)

Lead foot changes

Start out with three single alternating knees with one set of four marches.
Add the travel to the end.
Add across the top three times with a single knee, then finish with the single knee hop off the back of the step.
Make sure they get it before you add the straddle since eventually they will end up facing the back of the room.

To add the straddle, just have them practice a knee straddle knee exit traveling "around the world" and switching leads by facing opposite ends of the room each time.

Finally, add the straddle in between the first and second knees to get the finished product.

I know this is relatively simple, but it gets the basic classes into some more complex lead changes, provides the instructor with an easy combo to change leads, and gives the advanced class (and all classes for that matter) a change of scenery by switching leads and sides of the step to face the back of the room.
