Advanced Double
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 4722)
Steps are horizontal, begin at home with right lead:
------ ------
HOME AWAY
I.
- Over the top, walk around bench (or helicopter)
- Double turn: turnstep left lead at home, then turnstep left
at away.
- L-step back (off the skinny end), basic left
- L-step forward, reverse hook (over the top rotating back,
so you end up facing front on AWAY bench with left foot leading.
Repeat all starting left foot.
II.
- Pogo forward (like a mambo, but right foot lands forward
instead of backward), mambo 1-2-3 (cha cha cha travel to
AWAY bench)
- Kick straddle, kick corner (face back of room)
- Two shooters (up up lunge two and exit)
- Backfire (reverse hook into two shooters, so you
end facing front with left foot leading)
Repeat starting left foot
III.
- Turn to a straddle, quarter hop back (now you are facing the
front with the skinny side of bench to your right) X---- ----
- Squat (right foot on bench), exit and across the top
- Change to AWAY bench, Tic Toc* knee back (step knee, swing
right leg then left leg to side, then step knee exit)
- Repeater knee to corner (anay variation)
Repeat starting left foot
* Tic Toc knee: I usually keep the class at knees corner to corner
when I show them this move, which can also be a modification if
some participants don't like higher impact moves.
Now you can weave them together:
- Block I. right lead
- Block II. left lead
- Block III. right lead
- Block I. left lead
- Block II. right lead
- Block III. left lead
Thanks for all your ideas, my choreography is always a blend of
what I get from this site (as you can tell!)
