Fun for "U"
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 4762)
Combo A
- Turn straddle turn (8) cue as "U" step
- Corner to corner (4) reverse turnstep (4)
- Kick-lunge back, knee up and exit off the side of step (8)
- Across the top, L-step back (8)
Reverses itself
Combo B
- Two basic with same lead leg (8) arms go cross chest-1,
out to side-2, up-3, out to side again-4
- Keep same lead leg 1/2 hop turn, tap down (4)
- Abductor traveling (8) facing the back of the room
- L-step (4) three knee repeater exit back (4)
Reverses itself (facing the back to start)
Combo C
- Turnstep 2 jacks (8)
- Over the top (4) 1/2 hop turn (4)
- Repeater knee, abductor, ham then travel (8)
- Ham around the world- only halfway (8)
Reverses itself (facing back)
Tips:
Break down part 3 of Combo A by starting with a charleston kick.
Then cue them to replace the end kick with a knee up.
Then cue them to exit side at the end of the move.
Make sure you give options for the moves that are more advanced
or high impact. Ex: turnstep instead of reverse turnstep,
grapevine behind instead of across the top, walk around
instead of 1/2 hop turn, knee up instead of 2 jacks
Notes:
I teach each combo right and left, adding the new one on and
going back to the beginning. Then I split the combos and go
throught the whole thing - A on the right, B on the left, C
on the right THEN A on the left, B on the right, C on the
left. When you split them, the only combo that will start
facing back is Combo C.
Have fun and feel free to email me with any questions.
