Athletic Abs

This is an Abs pattern from (pattern 6862)

This is an advanced ab workout so be cautious of the level of your class.

Begin by sitting on the floor

Grab your legs and hold them in the air grabbing behind the thigh, you are making a human V if you will. Once they find their balance spot, many of them will roll backwards and start to giggle but let them. Get everyone back into a V. Have them hold this, release their hands, and continue holding the V shape for about 1 minute. Start out with 20 seconds, 40 seconds, and then build from there. After that have them "FAN" their hands downward like they are dribbling a basketball again start out slow and build up to a minute.

This is great for the lower abs but make sure you haven't anyone with lower back problems. My class loves this and it's a challenge to them to stay in the V shape.
