Kickbutting Drills oops I mean Kickboxing Drills

This is a BoxAerobics pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 6478)

I am starting on the right lead with all of these drills. These are all self-reversing, because after you take them across the room to the other side, you have to bring them back again. Thus using both leads. Have your participants line up along one wall on either side of the room unless of course you have too many for one wall (instructors dream of course) then you have them split up in half and send one half to one wall, the other half to the other wall.

Drill #1

Facing the front of the room from the wall on the side of the room.
Do a 3 count squat to the right. At the same time have them jab right, left, right. The first jab takes place as the right foot lands for the squat. Then pull the left leg up next to the right. You have now completed 1. Have them take this all the way across the room to the other side. Then have them take it back with the left lead squat and jabs left, right, left. WHEW! You can then change the jabs to uppercuts, hooks, elbow strikes (any kind), karate chops, palm heel strikes, etc. You can also have them squat on a 7 count instead of 3 count. WHEW WHEW!

Drill #2

Facing the front of the room from the wall on the side of the room.
Have them step out with the right foot to the right, then step the left next to the right, then do a right side kick. This is only a 3 count move. Have them move this step step kick all the way across the room. Then have them step left right left kick all the way back across the room.

Drill #3

Facing to the side of the room (where they are headed).
Have them lunge forward on the right. At the same time have them do a right upperarm block. This is done on the same count. Then have them jab left then right. (3 counts so far) then have them bring the left leg up next to the right (1 count). Have them either stay on the right lunge only as they cross the room to the other side, or have them alternate lunges right then left as they cross the room.

I will write some more drills soon. E me with questions or comments.
