Post Holiday Thigh Taming - Abductors & Glutes from Kauai

This is a Body Sculpting pattern from (pattern 6088)

I used this exercise for the first time in body conditioning class last week - my students were moaning and I even felt it the next day!

Using a band around the ankles - if no bands available can do without or using leg weights - starting position is hands and knees, elbows and knees are okay, too. (I use Spri exercise bands.) Cue navel to spine to engage core strength (i.e. abs & back).

Start with single long leg lift up to hip level, repeat 16 times make it a 4 count move, lift to hip level, abduct straight out to side, return to center and lower, repeat 16 times more or less depending on strength of your students - finish off by holding leg back in center at hip level, flex foot to ceiling and pulse up another 16 counts. Repeat sequence on the other leg.

This sequence can also be done for the adductors though the band doesn't provide near as much resistance for that movement.
