Pump It
This is a
BoxAerobics pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 6191)
Combo #1
- Start out with 2 to 3 sets of 8 of knee strikes one
side before switching to other side. (legs are in
lunge position, bringing arms from overhead across
the body to "crack someone's head on the knee")
- Go to step taps with hands in guard position.
- Add alternating hook arms. Progress the legs to
alternating lunging legs (keep hook arms)
- If capable-power up with hopping alternating lunging legs
- Put these together to become:
- 3 Right knee strikes with left hook lunge (to the right
side), alternate sides each time and repeat.
- If capable-power up the 3 knee strikes by making them
hopping.
Combo #2
- Teach alternating front kicks (each kick lasts 2
counts...right kick, down, left kick, down) - I teach
push kicks with flexed feet so there isn't an issue of
snapping the leg out too fast and injurying the knee.
- Teach side kicks (position the feet with front foot
pointing toward the corner, stick hip out towards
direction of kick, keep knees bent, and push [leading
with heel up] out to the side). Start with 4 count
kicks (knee up, push out, return knee, down) Repeat a
few times. Advance to 2 count kicks, then blast 'em with
single count same side kicks.
- Put theses together to become:
- 2 Alternating front kicks (1,2,3,4)
- 1 Side kick (5,6)
- 1 Jack (7,8)
- These alternate sides each time
Have fun and enjoy!
