Stair stepper variations

This is an Aquatic pattern from (pattern 6346)

Start in sitting-on-a-parkbench position, neutral in the water, jogging so that knees are coming up higher than your waist, feet pointing forward, shoulders leaning back, arms popping the elbows out of the water. Do each variation for a minute or so.

I always ask them where they feel it for each change, to promote body awareness and good involvement and to avoid injuries if someone is doing something odd. This sequence works glutes, hamstrings, quads, inner thighs, and even the elusive saddlebags. Follow with frogs. I tell them that they get exactly the workout they want to get, that they can work just as hard or easy as they wish, and that if they can talk that much they're not working hard enough and that they can go faster!
