Julie's for week 2/28

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 6623)

Back again with a compilation of material from everywhere, thanks to all who contribute and make my job easier!

Combo #1

Combo #2

Repeat with left lead

*Turn/mambo - start regular turnstep, up right foot (1), up left foot (2), down right foot (3), left foot crosses in front of right foot on floor, like a mambo, right foot lifts slightly (4), right foot comes back to floor where it was (5), left foot goes back to step, like starting a left lead turn (6), right foot to step, wide like turnstep (7), left foot to floor (8), right foot is poised to start directly into the grapevine facing south. There is NO tap down at the end of the turn/mambo like there is in a regular turnstep, important to tell your class that or they will want to tap down before executing the grape.

*Diagonal with 3 alternating knees moving back - left lead diagonal (1,2), down left foot (3), right knee raises (4), step/knee, right lead (5,6), left foot down, right knee lift (7,8). Remember that the 3 alternating knees are moving you back to set up for diagonal with 3 alternating knees again, other lead.

Combo #3

Repeat with left lead, on the north side of the step

Combo #4

Repeat left lead

*As an option to add to the 2 sets of knee repeaters, instead of tapping down after each set of repeaters, you could add a chacha straddle, a syncopation move, instead. This will leave you in a straddle position to start the A-step on the left lead. When using this chacha/straddle option , you need a transition to be able to take it from the top. Going from a straddle position to a basic (combo #1) can be awkward. I usually take them into repeaters around the world, adding variations on the repeaters to work them hard.. Just fluff to really get the heart rate up and transition out of the straddle position.

As usual, if you have any questions or feel that something isn't explained right, feel free to email me. I'll get back to you just as soon as I can.
