Run Like Crabs!

This is an Aquatic pattern from (pattern 6652)

As an alternative to sprinting for the cardio push at the end of the aerobic portion of class, I have the class run like crabs:

Everyone face the center of the pool, so that they will be running at a constant depth and so they get to look at each other looking silly;

Run hard sideways, pushing off with the foot away from the direction in which they are heading;

When you reach a side of the pool, change directions and keep moving fast;

Move legs and arms fast. This looks very silly, but the sillier the better, as you get pretty aerobic laughing. Continue until the instructor calls for you to stop when you get back to homebase, and sprint in place until the instructor calls for heartrates.

Some students really look forward to the chance to act like crabs....
