Aerobic Body Sculpt

This is a Body Sculpting pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 7175)

Step is horizontal - bpm 110/115 maximum
This is an aerobic body sculpt class that my class has asked to have put into the weekly schedule. They absolutely loved it and I hope you will too. This does include stepping with light hand weights so be sure to check with your director before doing. I have been teaching body sculpt with light hand weights for 6 years with no injuries or ill effects. Be sure to tell any NEW students or students that have bad form when lifting weights to do the workout with NO weights until you can work with them on form. Most will not be offended but grateful that you care enough to keep them injury free. Ok, here goes.

LOWER BODY

On a 10-12 inch step depending on client height and fitness level:

Lower the step to where they would normally have it for a step class & put O rings or bands around ankles (not dynabands)

UPPER BODY:

Now combine: 1 row up, 1 kickback, bring arm back down & 2 hammer curls (16 counts total). Repeat left arm

Pick up 3-5 pound weights

Pick up 8-10 pound weights

* place left foot on end of step, right foot steps wide into plie on floor - feet do plie squats - upper body does upright rows, 16 each side

Come off step:

Pick up 3-5 pound max - feet are holding still hip width apart

Finish with abs & Stretch

Any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask, I hope I've been able to provide you with some new moves for your sculpting classes.
