Hard Hitting Kickboxing!
This is a
BoxAerobics pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 7183)
This is a combo which can be performed separately or put
together for a final finale. I gauge it by my class, if I have
a class full of regulars than we eventually put it all
together. If I have a lot of new people, then we just do them
as three separate combos.
Start with left foot forward in boxer's stance, hands up.
- Step-touch (stepping front to back)
- On the step forward execute a jab, cross (1,2)
- Then: on the step back execute a duck back (as if someone
is punching at you) some people call it a "slip".
- The whole thing is: jab, cross, duck - jab, cross, duck,
etc.
2nd part of the combo:
- Change to a "step-into-it" while punching instead of
step-touch, stepping front leg forward while punching, and
leaving back leg planted)
- Jab, cross
- Jab, cross, back leg front kick
- (as you speed it up altogether you end up punching when
your weight is on your back leg)
Repeat...
3rd part of the combo:
- Back to step-touch front and back.
- Jab, cross (on the step forward)
- Jab, cross, hook (hook on the step back)
- Jab, cross, hook, fold front knee
- (folding also on the step back immediately after your
hook)
- Jab, cross, hook, change fold to roundhouse kick with
front leg
Then you are ready to combine the whole combo if you choose
to. It goes like this:
- Step-touch
- Jab, cross, duck
- Jab, cross, front kick
- Jab, cross, hook, roundhouse kick
Repeat...
Then repeat everything broken down on the other side!
I tried to be very specific but still found it difficult to
describe everything. If you have any questions, email me.
Thanks for all of your ideas.
