6 count V-step

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 8185)

I like movements that challenge established movement patterns. It feels weird at first, but participants get a kick out of it.

Horizontal approach

The V-step usually has four counts, here's how to make it six

Right lead

Normally, the count would be

Now, slow down the first right and left to half time so it looks like this

Now that you have the basic pattern down, you can mix it up and make the first right and left into knee lifts, leg abduction... Then you can change the single knee lifts into double knee repeaters.

Doing one set with single knee lifts and then one with the double knee repeater will give you a sixteen count.

Have fun!
