Kauai New Twists on Abdominals from the IDEA convention

This is an Abs pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 7796)

Hi Jean, Mariella and Mele - I've already shared some of these ideas with you but here's everything I can remember new on abs from the convention...most of this is from Len Kravitz whom I regard as the utmost authority on ab work...

A lot of talk about taking the hip flexors out of ab work - hip flexors are 5 x's as strong as our abs! One way to do this is to open up your knees another way is to take a 90 degree position with your legs and press down as hard as you can through the back of your heels - this works best with feet on a stability ball or bench, chair etc. to get the angle right - try this and you will be a amazed at the difference it makes.

I think that's it so with what we know about the strength of the hip flexor I hope to see no more abs with those legs pulling in! Hope this is of use and inspiration to someone out there.

P.S. It was recommended that lower back be worked out at a ratio of at least once for every 3 abdominal workouts - that seems to remain a weak link for so many people.
