Interval Step

This is a [Other] pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 7804)

The following is a workout I put together when I was ill- but still had to teach class. I call it interval step. You could use it in place of a step class or a circuit training class.

Place 3 to 4 steps across (or more depending on class size) and vary the height. (i.e. 1 riser, 2 risers, etc.) Then I had place cards for each step with a move written on it such as knee lifts, hamstring curls, hydrants, etc. Everyone went through the circuit 1 time and you can time them for 30 seconds; 1 minute; or 1 1/2 minutes. Then the second time around I added several upper body stations, then the third time around I added ab stations. Everyone got a workout- we still used the step and I was able to last the hour just instructing!! Any questions- feel free to ask. (This workout was also used by one of my new step instructors to help her get started before she had to put the moves in a routine form.)
