Abs w/Body Bar

This is an Abs pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 9063)

I usually use a 9 or 12 pound body bar while we do these in class. If you don't have a body bar a hand weight will also work.

First Set:

(Lie on back, feet on ground, hold body bar in hands and extend arms with slightly bent elbows over knees) When you come up your actually pushing the bar pass your knees.

Second Set:

(Still on back, feet on ground, hold body bar with bent elbows so the back of your hands are almost touching your shoulders--almost like you were going to do a chest press) When you come up your going to the right, and then left to work your obliques.

THEN:
Alternate right, center, left without bringing shoulder to floor.

Third Set:

(Still on back, feet on ground, hold body bar behind neck, but do not force bar on neck when pulling up for ab work) This will be a little movement.

Fourth Set:

(Still on back, both legs and feet in air with knees slightly bent, hold the bar across the knees) Lift hips a couple of inches off floor to work lower ab.
