3's A Charm

This is a Cycling pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 9876)

Put your class in groups of three. Give them 30 seconds (*or 1 minute if they are a very advanced class), on the clock. Each person is to pedal and count their rotations (rotation: A full pedal stroke.) At the end of the 30 seconds, each group of three tells each other how many rotations they did. Then the team takes the highest number of rotations and the lowest number of rotations and adds them together for their team score, throwing out the middle number. Ask the groups their numbers. I usually repeat the drill 3 times at 30 seconds for each. Somethimes I give prizes and sometimes just a big pat on the back! Happy Cycling!
